Add-on Module: Treesoft ERP GAEB Interface

Do you receive your request for proposal in GAEB format (*.D83) and need to submit your proposal in GAEB format (*.d84)? Do you create your own bids that require the import of manufacturers’ specifications (*.d81)? If so, the GAEB interface is the add-on module designed to handle these tasks.

Treesoft ERP includes a GAEB interface. When developing this interface, the goal was to satisfy as many customers as possible as quickly as possible. For this reason, the developers deliberately limited themselves to the following:

• We only process the GAEB 1990 format. The GAEB 2000 and GAEB DA XML formats are definitely not supported.
• GAEB 90 supports the following file formats: D83 Request for Proposal (Import), D81 Statement of Work (Import), and D84 Bid Submission (Export).
• The D83 file format definitely cannot be exported. Therefore, there is no way to generate a request for proposals on your own. D83 Request for Proposals (Import GAEB D83)

Following technical coordination, the statement of work—excluding prices (with the exception of work under time-based contracts)—is sent to companies interested in performing the construction work, along with a request for bids. This phase also includes addenda.

Note

A few record types in the D83 format are not imported by the GAEB interface implemented in Treesoft ERP. These are record types that contain comments or contract information that are irrelevant to the processing of the request for proposals. The errors are displayed in a dialog box and can be ignored.

D84 Bid Submission (Export GAEB D84): Bidders participating in the bidding process import the bill of quantities and then supplement it with their prices, bidder-specific additions, and custom quantities. The result can now be sent back to the contracting authority as a bid. Alternatively, the user has the option to export the “bid” to a D84 GAEB file. The D84 file contains the line item numbers—referred to as GAEB serial numbers (OZ)—the bidder’s corresponding unit and total prices, as well as any bidder-specific information. The service line items with short and long texts are not included.

Other Options

Treesoft ERP is software for creating and calculating quotes and the associated follow-up documents, such as order confirmations, delivery slips, advance, partial, and final invoices, as well as credit memos. For this reason, the features mentioned above cover almost all requirements.

In some cases, however, users may wish to export a bill of quantities as a request for proposals. We have not yet implemented this aspect of the GAEB data exchange. Users do, however, have several options for exporting the bill of quantities they have created.
